  i'm still standin'
Hey there, it has been almost a week since my last blog, and yes I have been knitting. I have two little secrets on the go at the moment, one for MIL who will never read the blog and another for Mother who probably will, so I can't tell you what's going on. Also, of course, I have done absolutely no knitting on Manly. I promise SS I will finish this before the end of the month! No more new projects after these until it is done!

I have been trawling ebay for yarn and patterns, and have my eye on a couple of things, so I will let you know if I win. I have been on a self-imposed ebay detox for quite some time after spending far too much time buying and selling for a while there. We made a bit of money, but we also had a lot of time where we were spending more on postage than we were getting for our sales! I have never bought yarn though, so that could be a goer. SS wants an xbox360, so we are looking at what xbox consoles are fetching. We sold a playstation2 which was broken for far too much - we were completely honest about the faults etc, so there is no accounting for people's tastes!

I finished my socks, and they are pretty cool:

Thanks Little Purl for taking the shot! I found it hard match the two socks, until I realised the blinking yarn was backwards. I had to rewind the second skein, and then voila, they matched. Something went slightly awry at the end however and the toes are not quite the same. Never mind. I am happy and they fit under my new boots I bought in Melbourne. I was staying on Bridge Road and I had an hour to kill, so I hopped on a tram and scoured every shoe shop until I found just what I was looking for. Flat black boots. There are none to be found in Launceston, that's for sure.

I hope to post with some FOs on Sunday, after Mother's Day gifts have been given. Perhaps even before then!

Comments:
Secret knitting is no good for photos!!! The socks are excellent!! I have had than happen - it is a pain in the foot!!
You are right about the boots : I have given up my proper boot search and settled for the 2 pairs of Docs (they were on super super special I must say), and the other green footwear. I wear jeans or trousers in Winter so no-one would ever see them!!!

I LOVE ebay, I buy mostly patterns from there.

The socks are great, I had a ball of Opal suddenly change direction once and the pattern was hard to match grrrrr!!!

I have been after a pair of flat black boots for the past three years now, you are right they don't exist here in Launceston.

Thankyou for your comments i really appreciate them. Love the socks they look fantastic.

Beautiful socks. I've just finished my third pair and have three more pairs planned!
I've had some good wool and needles bargains from ebay but I too found selling not really worth it.
Cheers Gillian

Great socks. I love the color and yes, a friend of mine had to rewind the second skein to match the first. Cannot wait to see your two surprises. Black boots are hard to come by if you want flat heels, but Bridge Road is great. When I was younger my friend and I used to go shopping there, when we had no kids.

I love the socks - they look great!
